【 Inside the Grinder】

The A4Z uses a 48 mm conical burr running at approximately 60 rpm. Grind size is adjusted in precise 8-micron steps using the same adjustment mechanism as the A4.

The grinder automatically stops after 90 seconds if left running.

Cleaning is simple. The catch cup can be removed, and the grinding mechanism pulls out directly for quick access to the burrs. The grind setting remains unchanged after removal, so there is no need to recalibrate after cleaning.

Retention and static are also minimal. Small magnetic brushes beneath the burr help clear remaining grounds during grinding. Justin also finds that RDT is generally unnecessary, especially when grinding lighter roasts.

Cup quality is where the A4Z stands out.

Using a washed beans, Justin found the cup vibrant, with clear notes of stone fruit and orange. The grinder produces strong flavor separation and high clarity while maintaining a slightly fuller, more rounded mouthfeel.
